Head Attorney
Senait Demelash
Senait Demelash Desyebelew, Esq. is the founder and managing attorney of Senait Demelash
Law, LLC.
Biography
Senait Demelash began her legal career as a university lecturer at the University of Gondar—one of Ethiopia’s most respected law schools—and later taught at several private colleges. Her commitment to public service led her to join the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a diplomat, where she worked on international legal and human rights matters. She further expanded her global experience through internships with the United Nations in New York and Geneva, working on issues including refugee protection, humanitarian policy, and human rights. She later served as a senior human rights officer before moving to the United States, and since arriving in the U.S., she has practiced with immigration and family law firms. Originally from Ethiopia and a graduate of NYU School of Law with the prestigious Hauser Global Scholarship, Senait brings international legal experience rooted in human rights,
international law, and refugee protection—shaped by both her professional background and her own lived experience navigating the U.S. immigration system. Admitted to the Maryland Bar and the New York State Bar, and authorized to practice immigration law nationwide, Senait is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally
informed, and client-centered advocacy across immigration, refugee, and family matters. Her work is guided by the belief that the law should be a bridge to safety, dignity, and opportunity, not a source of fear or injustice.
